Built for Slack

The org chart Slack never had.

VKT turns Slack into your company's operating layer. Org chart, people directory, weekly reports, time off and approvals — set up once, then use them where your team already works.

The gap

Work happens in Slack. Org data lives somewhere else.

Headcount sits in a spreadsheet, time off sits in email, approvals scroll away in a thread. Nobody can answer “who owns this?” in under five minutes.

01

The chart is a stale image

Someone exports a PNG every quarter. It is wrong by the second week, and nobody knows which version is real.

02

Process lives in DMs

Time off, reimbursements and sign-offs disappear into conversations that nobody can search or audit later.

03

Another tool, another silo

A dedicated HR platform for a 40-person team is one more login, one more bill and one more place data goes stale.

Modules

One install. Seven tools. No second login.

Every module reads the same org data, so a change in one place is correct everywhere else.

Org chart

A chart that survives a reorg.

Most org charts are drawn once and abandoned. VKT's is the source of truth: move a department and reporting lines, approval chains and leave routing follow it.

Every module reads this chart. That is why one edit fixes everything.

  1. 01

Pan, zoom and fold. A 120-person company stays readable on a laptop.

  2. 02

Drop a card on a department to re-parent it — “reports to” updates with it.

  3. 03

Import from CSV or from Slack on day one. Export whenever you want out.

Division of labour

Entry points in Slack. Deep work in the browser.

Block Kit cannot draw an org chart, and a modal cannot hold a forty-field form. So we do not pretend. Slack is where you are told and where you tap once; the browser is where the real work happens.

In Slack

  • Home tab with what needs you today
  • Approve or decline with one button
  • Reminders and weekly digests
  • Slash commands: /vkt-leave, /vkt-reports

In the browser

  • The org chart canvas
  • Directory and bulk CSV import
  • Approval templates and routing rules
  • Calendar, holidays and audit log

Sign in with Slack. No second password.

Security

Multi-tenant by construction, not by policy.

Every table carries a workspace id and every query starts with it. A missing tenant is not something we catch in review — it returns nothing.

Read the security brief
  • Workspace tokens encrypted with AES-256-GCM
  • Admin rights derived from the org, not handed out by hand
  • GDPR retention windows with anonymisation
  • Audit log for sensitive actions

FAQ

What teams ask first

Do we install something for each module?

No. One Slack app covers all seven modules. They appear in the app's Home tab and in the web console, and you can switch off the ones you do not use.

Where does our data live?

In a managed MySQL instance we operate, reached through Cloudflare. Each workspace is isolated by tenant id and nothing is shared between customers.

Do employees need separate accounts?

No. People sign in with Slack. The directory is built from the people already in your workspace, so there is nothing to invite twice.

Can we keep our existing chart?

Yes. Import from CSV on the first day — departments, managers and emails map directly — and export at any time.

How does a time-off request know who to ask?

Department rules first, then the department lead, then the direct manager, then a fallback approver. The applicant is always skipped.

What happens when someone uninstalls?

The workspace token is destroyed, access stops immediately, and retained records follow the retention policy you configured.

Start with the chart. Add the rest when you need it.

Org chart and weekly reports are free. Install once, invite your team, and keep your people data in one place.

No credit card. Uninstall in one click, and take your data with you.
